ShiftChange is a professional development program designed to equip nurses with essential policy and leadership skills. Through online courses, interactive seminars, and leadership training, participants build knowledge and strategic connections with public health and policy leaders. The program fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling nurses to engage across sectors, translate research into policy, and contribute to local and national health discussions. ShiftChange is not an advocacy organization, rather it prepares nurses to navigate and influence policy—whether through storytelling, strategic engagement, or pursuing leadership roles.
ShiftChange offers nurses the opportunity to immediately engage in policy through programs that connect their skills directly to the needs of policy-makers
Your Nurse on Call connects nurses with policymakers, providing expert insights, bill reviews, policy brief drafting, speaking engagements, and storytelling. This platform enables nurses to lend their expertise, categorized by specialty and geographic location, ensuring policymakers can access the right voices when they need them most.
The Narrative Library is a dedicated space where nurses can document their experiences—from clinical care to workforce challenges—providing policymakers with firsthand accounts that inform and support legislative efforts.
